Roosevelt Green

Hello, my name is Roosevelt Green I was born in sunny San Diego, California. I’ve always had an active imagination and I’m a bit of a dreamer, so acting just seemed like the most natural path for me. Thankfully, I have loving parents to support me on my path. My first experience on the stage was in high school and I just fell in love with theatre. From there I decided to dive deeper into the craft of acting. One thing I discovered from acting is that portraying different people makes me see different sides of who I am. Fully embodying other people always fascinated me. As I said before I have an active imagination whenever I watch my favorite movie, play, or TV show; I would reenact specific scenes or put in my own verbal dialogue. It made me feel like I was part of the story. Denzel Washington is my greatest inspiration as an actor, he just fits in no matter what role he plays. As a person he’s just down to earth and stays true to himself I admire that. Needing a change of scenery, I’ve moved to the Bay Area to pursue an MFA in Acting at the Academy of Art University. It was my first time leaving home and living by myself. It’s been quite a journey and while I enjoy theatre, I’ve had the opportunity to immerse myself in the world of filmmaking. Seeing myself on camera every semester has been surreal. Funny enough I lived in California my whole life, yet people say I have a different accent or dialect. Aside from acting I have a burning passion for screenwriting and voice acting too. I want to craft stories and give life to characters through my voice that just speaks to my soul. I do practice occasionally, writing characters I identify with. I even read books to give myself inspiration to write scripts. I love Acting not only as a craft but to explore the humanity in other people.
