Safe Haven for Persian LGBTQ Children
Bachelor of Architecture Thesis Project
Persian culture values strong family bonds and cherishing time with loved ones. But, when family members, including children, are part of the LGBTQ community, this love can turn into resentment. In Iran and the U.S., many Persian LGBTQ children face abandonment and abuse, often lacking a safe home.
The opportunity is for Persian LGBTQ children to have a safe home where they can embrace both Persian and LGBTQ cultures as one. This aims to show society that we are all human, regardless of our differences.

The design technique weaves a series of programs and pathways together around the courtyard and creates the fusion of Persian and queer cultures while providing a unique, safe, and supportive home and environment for the children.
