For the Nova STARGAZER I wanted to create an offset guitar inspired by my favorite guitars, used by some of my favorite artists during the grunge/alternative movement of the 90's. I've always loved the lopsided stars drawn by children and decided to create an offset guitar that would enhance my favorite qualities of those stars. The Nova STARGAZER is created out of industry standard alder wood, with a maple neck and rosewood fretboard, it features 2 Fender P90 pickups with a 3 way toggle switch for a wide range of tones, as well as a behind the bridge tremolo arm allowing for harmonic playability behind the bridge as well as pitch shifting. The volume and tone knobs sit just below the bridge keeping them out of the way of a players hand, and 2 strap nuts sit on the point and bottom of the guitar for ideal weight distribution while standing. I 3D modeled and machined this guitar to make sure every pocket was as tight as possible for maximum resonance. I also cut out ergonomic grooves to allow for high fret reachability, as well as a stomach and forearm cut to create a comfortable playing experience. This guitar is finished in a deep blue with multiple layers of silver and blue sparkle to emulate the night sky and remind players to never lose their childlike wonder, and always shoot for the stars.
