Samantha Girad
Samantha Girard is a three-time award-winning actress from Santa Clara, CA. During her last semester at AAU, she took a chance on Directing and caught the movie-making bug. She has always had a deep passion for film and never would’ve thought that she would find a love for documentaries, but once she began her first documentary, Swords In The Sand, she truly fell in love with the process. Additionally, she never thought she would own a company but through making films she created “Alda Productions LLC” and she began her entrepreneurial dreams. Currently, she is working on another documentary about nursing leadership and the founders of the nursing practice, paying homage to her nursing roots in her family. Through her film-making journey, she hopes to create more narrative films that tell provocative stories about gender struggles, inequality, and eventually dabbling in phycological thrillers. Her inspirations are Sofia Coppola’s “Marie Antoinette” and Olivia Wild’s “Don’t Worry Darling”, all of which tell the different struggles of women in society. She hopes that through her platform she can provide other artists the inspiration and technical skills to create their films and tell stories that others need to hear.
